Colorado Sen. Suzanne Williams’ Case Delayed
This past December, Colorado Senator Suzanne Williams was involved in a fatal car accident while in Texas. We’ve covered the details and developments of this controversial case extensively here on the blog:
This week, the case was supposed to go before a Grand Jury to determine whether Sen. Williams will face criminal charges; however, as Connect Amarillo reports, there’s now going to be a delay:
District Attorney David Green said the case will not be ready to present to his office until around the end of February. Green said that the case would not be presented to a Grand Jury in February but said he is anticipating the case to be presented to a Hartley County Grand Jury in April.
Apparently this postponement was news to Williams’ attorney. Another Connect Amarillo article reports that “Williams’ attorney David Lane told The Denver Post that he had not been in contact with Hartley County District Attorney David Green and hadn’t heard that the grand jury had been postponed.”
With an accident case this high-profile, there will likely be more developments in the coming weeks. We’ll continue to follow Senator Williams’ case here on the blog.
