Driver Ejected in Fatal One-Vehicle Accident in Franklin County
According to Franklin County Sheriff Jeff Curry, a fatal one-vehicle accident occurred on Sunday on Colorado Road, north of Pomona. Just after midnight, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Pomona Township Rural Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of the crash, and they pronounced the driver dead at the scene upon their arrival.
Information on what happened is a bit thin right now, but Shaun Hittle, a reporter for LJ World, brings us a few details:
The man — identified as Mack A. Sachs — was driving a 1994 Chevrolet truck north in the 3800 block of Colorado Road around 12:40 a.m. Sachs lost control of the truck, which left the roadway and overturned, ejecting Sachs from the vehicle.
According to Ann Marie Busch, a reporter for The Capital Journal, Sach’s was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Franklin County Sherriff’s Office. However, this case is a very sad example of how it doesn’t always take two vehicles to cause a truly devastating accident.
