Colorado Rollover Accident Rundown: Frequent and Dangerous as Roads Become Icy

| (Google+)

rolloverWith Colorado driving conditions becoming more and more icy, the potential for rollover accidents increases drastically. Over the past two and a half weeks, a rash of rollover crashes have occurred throughout Colorado:

* On the first of December a woman was thrown from her vehicle in a rollover on Interstate 25 in Broomfield, CO. She did not survive. [Via Erica Meltzer at The Colorado Daily]

* On November 28th, 16 year-old Michael Dixon perished in a rollover accident on  Chaffee County Road 162, approximately 0.1 miles west of Colorado 285. [Via The Colorado Connection]

* On November 29th, two more 16 year-old boys suffered personal injuries in a rollover accident in a truck headed eastbound on Fountain Blvd in Colorado Springs. Police report that the truck hit a patch of ice. Alcohol may have been involved. [Via KKTV]

* On November 21st, a family of six beat the odds and all survived a rollover on Interstate 270. The two children both were thrown from the SUV, one of them still secured in a car seat. [Via Andrea Lopez of CBS 4 Denver]

* On November 16th, a pick-up truck collided with a semi near downtown Denver. The pick-up rolled over and the semi spilled debris along the highway. [Via CBS 4 Denver]

* On November 15th, Nicole Clemmans lost her life in a rollover accident that also hospitalized her husband and two children. Even though both the children were ejected from the vehicle they only sustained minor injuries. Their father was treated for serious injuries. [Via Nick Bonham at The Pueblo Chieftan]

While this is hardly a scientific survey, I think it still communicates both the frequency and the danger of Colorado rollover accidents. Exercise caution, wear your seat belts and don’t drink and drive. Don’t become a statistic for the holidays!

My daughter and I first consulted with Dan Rosen after a very serious auto accident. Dan had several phone conferences with me, and Tracie was available whenever I called. We would recommend personal injury attorney Dan Rosen to anyone!
