El Paso County Motorcycle Accident Results in Charges, Fatality
Another motorcycle fatality has marred the Colorado landscape last Friday, this time in Eastern El Paso County. It’s always tragic when a motor vehicle accident results in someone’s injury or death. If you’ve ever ridden a motorcycle you already know how exhilarating it is, and how much more dangerous it can be. One of the reasons I enjoy being part of Colorado motorcycle lawyer Dan Rosen’s team is that he rides, and so is particularly sensitive to the needs of other motorcyclists.
KKTV.com identified the deceased in a recent report:
The accident was first called in around 8:40 p.m. We are told that the motorcyclist, 47-year-old Kenneth Dodgen, died at the scene. Meridian Rd. had been shut down at that location for several hours while police investigated the scene.
Fox 21 news anchor Kimberly Price brings us her description of events via The Colorado Connection:
The Colorado State Patrol says a Ford Mustang was attempting an illegal left turn onto southbound Meridian Road as a motorcycle rider approached the intersection.
Troopers say the motorcycle rolled as it attempted to avoid the Mustang, colliding with the car and catching fire.
Ask any motorcyclist, and you will hear comments about the fact that they feel as though many drivers do not seem to notice them. I know the feeling well from when I used to ride a Honda Rebel. Please be vigilant on the road, and be careful of those drivers on two wheels instead of four.
