Car Accident in Fremont County, Colorado Leaves 3 Dead
A Jeep Cherokee was traveling east on Fremont County Road 123 approximately 1 mile east of Colorado Highway 67. Colorado State Patrol responded at to the accident at 7 p.m.
The Jeep crossed into the westbound lanes and drove off the north shoulder. The vehicle rolled and came to rest approximately 50 feet north of County Road 123, according to a release from the state patrol.
When Colorado police responded to the incident, they found three fatalities — one of the victims was thrown from the Jeep and the other two were partially ejected. All three were pronounced dead on the scene.
According to KKTV, the cause of the fatal car accident is still unclear. The victims were three teenage girls from Penrose, Colorado:
The victims have been identified as Jessica Dunovsky, 18, of Penrose (Driver), Lacey Dunovsky, 15, of Penrose (Passenger), and Abelina Gallegos, 16, of Penrose (Passenger).
Even when there are no other drivers on the road, one must exercise great care when behind the wheel. Even a single-vehicle accident can have deadly consequences.
